The content it generates — this is the part that matters most

Content Course++ writes into your course becomes your institution's accessibility obligation, not ours. So we try to generate it correctly the first time.

Course++ aims to produce:

• Headings in proper order, so screen readers can navigate the page
• Real table headers with scope, rather than bold text pretending to be a header
• Alt text on every image it generates — this is required, not optional, in the tool
• Meaningful link text — never "click here"
• No meaning carried by colour alone
• Readable contrast

It can also check existing content: ask it to find pages missing alt text, or headings that skip a level, and it will go through the course and tell you.

Please still check. Automated generation gets structure right far more reliably than it gets judgment right. Alt text that describes an image accurately is not the same as alt text that conveys why the image is there.

The tool itself

Course++ is a panel inside Canvas. We build it to be keyboard navigable, to work with screen readers, and to respect your system's reduced-motion and colour preferences.

We have not had it independently audited, so we do not claim WCAG conformance. We would rather tell you that than assert a standard we have not tested against.

Known gaps we are working on:

• Some controls need better focus indication
• The settings panel does not trap focus as reliably as it should
• Live status updates are not always announced

This is a one-person company, so we cannot promise a timeline on everything — but accessibility reports go to the front of the queue, because they usually indicate something genuinely broken rather than merely imperfect.
