Course++ vs MagicSchool and Brisk for Canvas teachers
Short answer: MagicSchool and Brisk are good at making things: lesson plans, quizzes, leveled readings and feedback on student writing. Course++ works inside the Canvas course you have open and makes the changes there: it builds pages, quizzes and modules, moves dates and fixes links, and most of it can be undone. Many teachers will want one of each. This page is written by Course++, so read it knowing that; every claim about the other two links to their own site.

When to pick which
- Pick MagicSchool when you want lots of ready-made tools in one place: a lesson plan, a rubric, report card comments or an IEP draft. Its free plan is a fair start, and if your district has Enterprise, it already launches from Canvas.
- Pick Brisk when you work in Google Docs and want feedback on student essays, or want to re-level an article for different readers. It’s free for teachers and sits in the browser on the page you’re on.
- Pick Course++ when the work is the Canvas course itself: building a module, fixing dates after a snow day, or fixing links after a course copy. Nothing to copy and paste into Canvas, and you can undo most of it.
- Use both if you like what MagicSchool or Brisk writes. Paste it into Course++ and have it built into your course.
Things only Course++ does in your course
Open your Canvas course, open Course++ beside it, and paste one of these. Change the names and numbers to match your course.
